Retha Cook was born in Eads, Colorado, May 5, 1945. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert W. (Hap) and Juanita Hudson, her sister Anita and brother Robert (Bud). In 1947 Retha’s parents bought a ranch and moved the family to Falcon, CO. Retha attended Falcon school and later attended Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.
Retha worked for Mountain Bell Telephone company until she married Phil Waller and moved to Los Angeles. Later buying a house in Burbank where her son Michael was born. After moving back to Colorado Springs, her second child Kim was born Retha and Phil traveled all around the world throughout the 70’s. Retha and Phil later divorced in the early 80’s.
Retha then worked for Springs First Nazarene Church for many years and later worked as a secretary for reverend Gary Haines. She married Don Cook in 1987 and lived in the Springs for several years. Eventually selling the house in the springs and began traveling in a motorhome. In 1999 Retha developed stage 4 breast cancer and began a very aggressive chemo and radiation program. Retha had an amazing knack for growing and rescuing violets.
Retha is survived by her children Michael Waller and Kim Waller.
