Dick graduated from Grayslake High School in Grayslake, Illinois. After graduation, Dick served honorably in the U.S. Army. On completion of his military duty, he attended DeVry Tech. He worked using his electronic skills and then attended Radio Broadcasting School. His first job as a Disc Jockey was in Springfield, Ill. Dick's career in radio took him to Anderson, IN., Lansing, MI., Tampa, FL., Beaumont, TX. and San Diego, CA. Dick then went to worked for ATT until his 1st retirement and then retired again from San Diego Gas and Electric. He later moved to Colorado Springs, CO. to be close to his family.
Serving his Lord in many areas of the church without seeking recognition was always a goal for Dick. He served on many church boards. He was Lay Director on the Walk To Emmaus in San Diego, CA. Dick led many bible studies. Through his last years, Dick worked in children's ministry and led many Wild at Heart groups for men.
Friends were important to Dick but family always came first. He supported his children in school, through girl and boy scouts, sports, church and worked diligently through Recreational Services for the Handicapped to provide services for children like his daughter. He went on mission trips and worked teams with youth and sponsored a college age group at church. Dick worked hard to provide for his family and supported each of them in every endeavor.
Dick enjoyed traveling and was blessed to travel many places aboard and in the United States. Cruising was another favorite. His sense of humor made making friends wherever he went easy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife; Carol Eller, loving son; Stephen (Candace) Eller, son in law; Glen Teske, granddaughter; Cassandra Eller, grandson; Matthew Eller, brother; Robert (Susan) Eller.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; Dale and Georgia and daughter; Beth Teske.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Discovery Church Colorado for a new camera. This was Dick's favorite way to serve his church.
