

Rick W. “Dick” Sharpe, age 74, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on June 29, 2022. Richard was born on May 26, 1948. Son of Rodney C. and Maeno M. Sharpe. An Army brat and sort of a lifelong resident, between trips to Germany and Fort Knox, Kentucky. He attended Columbia, Garfield and Stratton Meadows Elementary Schools, Fort Knox Jr. High School, Harrison High School and attended El Paso, now Pikes Peak Community College.
Dick joined the Navy in 1966, he served at Midway Island, aboard the USS Topeka, CLG-8 and ran river boats in the “Brown Water Navy” in Viet Nam, a RIVRON-5 river rat, 1968-1969.
When he returned home he joined Mountain Bell, an AT&T company. He worked there for 15 years when he and two other employees left and formed Tricom Communications, which served the business community in Colorado Springs for almost 30 years. He served as President of Tricom unit 2015 when the company was sold and he retired. Dick was a member of Prospectors Network Group, The National Hot Rod Assn, and Goodguys.
Dick was predeceased by a son, Quentin Todd, and a daughter, Christian Marie. He is survived by a daughter, Dara Rea and 3 grandkids, Ella, Ethan, and Easton.
Dick was a certifiable car nut. He owned many over the years, mostly Corvettes and Street Rods, the green one was the best one.
Dick was not a religious person, so please raise a glass to mark his passing, Cheers.
A graveside service for Richard will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
