Richard “Rick” Tornblom, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away after a brief illness, on January 16, 2019, at the age of 61 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, September 23, 1957, to the late Dale and Shirley Tornblom.
Rick graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1975. After graduation, he worked with his father in the family business for a few years. Rick loved painting and worked as a professional commercial painter for 20+ years until he was forced to stop due to his health. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and cooking. Rick was always there to help family with painting projects or whatever else they needed him for. He was witty, quick with a joke, could always be counted on to brighten your day and make you laugh.
He is survived by his wife Carol Skaggs of 29 years, daughters Tammie (Stan) Jacobs and Leanna (Jeff) Eltagonde, granddaughters Lauren Pantoya and Elizabeth (Angie) Pantoya, great-granddaughter Natalie Pineda and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Rick was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents Dale and Shirley Tornblom; brother Mark Tornblom: and granddaughter Kelci Pantoya.
Following his wishes, we will not be having a public service.
