

Lieutenant Colonel Robert (Bob) Lloyd Ham, 84, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by wife: Bernice M. Ham, children: Terri Lynne Henderson of St. Joseph, MO, Alan Robert Ham (Darla) of Westminster, CO, Timothy Ham of Colorado Springs, CO, and stepson: Robert Warmbir (Jennifer) Temecula, CA. He is also survived by grandchildren: Brandy Henderson of Clarksdale, MO, Michael Ham (Julie)of Colorado Springs, CO, Justin Ham (Lisa) of Westminster, CO, Joshua Ham of Broomfield, CO, Aimee Salazar (Porfirio) of Colorado Springs, CO , Christina Carino (Frederick) of Aurora, CO, Krista Wasinger (Jason) , Stephanie Hatch (Jon) and Lynette Ham of Wichita, KS. Also has step grandchildren Richard, Jacquelyn, Amanda, Sadako of Temecula, CA. He is survived by twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Robert graduated from Atchison High School and married Lorene Clem in 1949. They were married for 42 years. He worked at Lockwood Printing. While he was in Atchison, KS he was Commander of the National Guard, before being sent to Fort Carson Colorado prior to being deployed to Vietnam with 199th Light Infantry Brigade. He retired, after his successful 35 years in the Army, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device 1960, Bronze Star Medal w/ 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, and Air Medal.
After retiring from the Army he was employed with National Graphics Printing in Denver, CO as a Business forms sales person.
He is preceded in death by his father: Robert C. Ham, mother: Gladys Ham, first wife: Lorene Ham and son: Gary Ham.
Bob was also a fifty year member of the Atchison, KS Mason Lodge, a member of the VFW, American Legion and Sertoma, where he was District Governor of Southern Colorado.
He enjoyed his family and friends, traveling, golfing and military organizations.
Bob also knew Jesus as His Lord and Savior and will spend eternity with Him. Celebration of Life services will be Saturday, May 30th, 11:00 am, at Mountain View Church of Christ, 1080 E. LaSalle St., Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, at a later date, with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, The USO, Gentiva Hospice or Mountain View Church of Christ’s Building Fund.
