

Bob started life in rural Scottsburg, IN on Aug 15, 1934. A Hoosier through and through, Bob played high school basketball and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
After college Bob took a position in Houston, TX, with Allen-Bradley Company, with whom he spent his entire career. Bob also served in the U.S. Army Reserve Signal Corps.
It was in Houston that Bob met the Love of His Life, Lynn Mahan, and they were married Aug 18, 1962. To their union three children were born - James, Elizabeth and Andrew.
After Houston, Bob and Lynn moved their family to Birmingham, AL, then to Atlanta, GA, where he retired from Allen¬-Bradley in 1994. Bob and Lynn retired later that year to Colorado Springs where they became active members of Grace and St Stephens Episcopal Church.
Bob was a member of Rotary International throughout his professional career, serving as President of Garden of the Gods Rotary Club. Bob served in leadership positions in every church where he was a member.
Bob always found time to enjoy his family, from summer travel excursions to leading Boy Scouts, to taking the family to Scottish Games for Highland Dance competitions.
Bob and Lynn were married for fifty-eight years. They were members of gourmet clubs, Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society and were founding members of the local Martini Club where they would socialize and enjoy time with friends.
Bob is survived by his children: James Carlile (Kristin) of Birmingham, AL; Elizabeth Briggs (David) of High Point, NC; and Andrew Carlile (Sarah) of Monument, CO. Grandchildren: Olivia Carlile, Jackson Carlile; Katherine Christie, Victoria Christie; Amelia Carlile, Cameron Carlile. Sister, Patricia Perkins, Westfield, IN.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lynn, parents James and Alma Carlile and his brother Samuel (Sam) Carlile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Bob’s memory to Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A memorial Service is being planned for a future date at the church.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday Dec 17th at Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
