

Bob was born in Syracuse, NY in 1921 to Laura and Frederick DeLong. His family was one of the first to settle in upstate New York in the Mohawk Valley.
After high school Bob married Ethal Lyons with whom they had a daughter Sharon. They later divorced. Bob joined the Air Force in 1943. He served as a pilot in the South Pacific. He continued to fly bombers till he went to Vietnam and retired in 1971.
He married Virginia in 1952 and had two sons Bryan and Mark. After his retirement from the Air Force Bob and Virginia settled in Colorado Springs where they operated Ent Auto Sales till her death in 1995.
Robert will be remembered for his humorous personality and his generosity. He was a sharp dresser and a gentleman. He loved to fly and continued to do so into his 80s. He was a lover of animals and had several German Shepherds in his lifetime.
Bob leaves behind his daughter Sharon (Bill) Wagner of Tucson, AZ. Sons Bryan (Cathy) of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Mark of Rock Springs, WY.
Bob also leaves behind six grandchildren: Lauri, Mark, Kelly, Brandon, Carol, and Jennifer, and ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donate to Humane Society or charity of your choice. Thanks to all the wonderful people at Liberty Heights for their wonderful care and compassion. Service and interment will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1pm.
