Robert G. Miller (Bob or "Fat Boy") departed from this earthly world after many years of complications to his health. His last wishes were to be in a better place in heaven and thus his journey began and ended – June 4, 2026. Bob was born June 23, 1944, in Rocky Ford, Colorado to George and Betty Miller both deceased.
He attended schools in Colorado Springs and later joined the Navy. He married his first wife, Verlene, and their family was made up of four children. Robert, Deanna (deceased), Tim (deceased - surviving wife Connie) and Michelle (deceased - husband Ron).
He later married Inez and was together for 42 years until his passing. Inez brought two of her own children into the marriage (John and Sis) to which Bob helped support in many ways. Upon Bob's health problems, Inez was very devoted to him and his daily needs.
Bob had only one older sibling, his sister Barb. They had a very close relationship that never wavered and he was often reminded who was the "boss". He became the father figure to his niece (Deb) and nephew (Rick) and was always caring and supportive of their needs. He enjoyed grandnieces Shanna (decreased) and Shyanne and could never resist making fun of them and making them laugh.
Bob's entire family members also include 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren along with his beloved dog "Peanut".
After the Navy, Bob worked as an auto mechanic for several auto dealers in Colorado Springs, became a custodian for different elementary schools in District 11, worked in the
casinos in Cripple Creek, Colorado and was an employee of a local Ace Hardware store.
He loved fishing (always catching the most fish) and was passionate about working around his house. He spent many years building, remodeling, pouring concrete and still not completely happy with the results would often start the process all over again.
Bob loved his orchard with fruit trees along with an abundance of vegetables. He preferred watering his grass by hand and no other way. He enjoyed being around family members and friends and the many outings throughout the years. He had the best personality and was always fun to be around. He made people laugh with his ongoing "Confucius say" and blonde jokes.
He was a contributor to cancer for children, St. Jude's Hospital and the kidney foundation.
There will be no services, but a remembrance and celebration of Bob's life will be a summer outing yet to be determined - definitely something he would prefer.
