Bob passed away on March 4, 2022 from complications from Covid surrounded by his loving children at time of death. Bob was born to William Rickard and Maria (Miller) Rickard in Baltimore, Maryland on January 31, 1932. Bob was an only child. He enlisted in the Air Force right out of high school and spent 28 years in traffic management, traveling the world. He met his wife, Sadie A. (Speirs), in Florida where they were both stationed. They had four children, Paula, Gail, David and Stephen (deceased). He was an active parent involved in scouting, coaching baseball, and teaching golf. After retiring in 1978, Bob continued in traffic management with the civil service for 14 more years in Colorado Springs. Once officially retired, he and Sadie spent their time traveling and living in Colorado Springs until moving to Loveland in May of 2021 to be closer to their children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He loved nothing better than to be surrounded by his large family to joke and enjoy each other. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing wherever he went and won many awards. He organized the yearly church golf trip and enjoyed spending time with his golf buddies. Bob was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Retired Enlisted Association, Blue Spruce Golf Course, Peterson AFB, and ORBS at Peterson AFB. He was a long-standing member of Good Shepherd U.M. Church. His memorial service is scheduled for March 23, 2022 at 1:30 at Good Shepherd U.M Church in Security, in Bruce Chapel.
