Robert Anthony “Bob” Russo was born July 5, 1944 in Boston, MA to Anthony and Ruth Haley Russo. He died after a short bout with cancer on Dec. 24, 2012. He was 68 and a Colorado Springs resident for over 30 years. He was a beloved husband, dad and grandpa. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Marilyn; daughter Karin Russo (her husband, Dan Way) and son Ted Russo. He will also be remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Yale, Mabon, and Patience Russo-Way and Deven, Alison, and Logan Russo.
Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and his Master’s Degree from Webster University. He worked in the traffic industry for over 40 years. First for Safetran Traffic Signals then most recently for Traffic Signal Controls of Longmont, CO. He traveled the country, even the world, helping cities solve their traffic problems.
Traveling was so second nature to Bob, that when it came time to travel for recreation, he discovered the world of cruising. He and Marilyn were fortunate enough to enjoy more than 30 cruises together, seeing many of the sights of the world.
Visitation will take place Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, 2650 Parish Way, Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Food for the Poor are welcomes in Bob Russo’s memory.
