Robert grew up all over as the son of a retired Master Sergeant, learning early the value of steadiness, duty, and perseverance. He graduated from Sierra High School in 1987, carrying forward a determined work ethic and a quiet wisdom that would guide him through every season of life.
In the years that followed, Robert found purpose in service to others, most notably through volunteering at DAV Chapter 26 Knob Hill. He gave his time with the kind of selfless consistency that asked for no recognition—showing up, doing what needed to be done, and remaining loyal to the people and mission he believed in. His honesty and patience were evident in the way he treated others: direct, dependable, and respectful.
Robert’s love for the outdoors and simple joys was clear in his time spent fishing and camping, and in his appreciation for nature. He also enjoyed sports, and the Denver Broncos held a special place as his favorite team—one more thread in a life rooted in loyalty and enduring devotion.
Those who knew Robert often described him as strict but fair—brave in the face of hardship, resilient through life’s challenges, and steady in his convictions. Family always came first, and his care was expressed not in grand gestures, but in hard work, reliability, and a protective, steadfast presence. In Robert’s world, everybody was a friend, and he carried himself with a respect for others that made people feel seen and valued. He was, in every sense, beloved.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Christina Nicole; his sister, Tammy Marie; his brother, John B; his grandson, Sawyer; his granddaughter, Daisy; and family friend, Terrance.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on September 4, 2026, at 12:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home on September 4, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
