Roberta H. Lancaster June 2, 1928 – August 6, 2011

Roberta H. Lancaster passed peacefully from this life into her heavenly home on Saturday August 6, 2011.

She was born on June 2, 1928 in Fountain, Colorado to the late Robert & Helen Christian. After graduating from Fountain High School, she moved to Colorado Springs where she met and married her soul mate of 57 years Everett Lancaster. They were blessed to have 4 children together. Roberta began her 40 year career at Mountain Bell (Qwest) where she faithfully served as a long distance operator.

Generous, relational, cheerful, encouraging, compassionate, true friend to all, zealous for life, passionate for Christ, lover of family and friends. These are all words that perfectly describe Roberta.

Grace Presbyterian church was richly blessed to have Bobbie, as she was called by her friends, service as both a regular church member and a faithful deaconess.

She is survived by her sister Margaret Gililland, 2 brothers Jerry and Ron Christian, 4 children Debbie (Joe) Farrington, Diana (Dave) Sobotka, Mark (Julie) and Brian (Jennifer) Lancaster. She also had 9 grandchildren.

We cherish the wonderful memories of Roberta and she will be sadly missed because of the lasting impact she made both as a prayer warrior and faithful friend to alI.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 2511 North Logan Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm with the Entombment to follow. Both will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:00am at Grace Presbyterian Church.

To Bobbie's Family I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I only knew Bobby as she was a patient of ours, but she made a lasting impact on my life the three years I knew her. She was such a neat lady and will miss seeing her and her cousin Dorothy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. She may be gone, but never forgotten...Kat Drake

To Bobbie's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Bobbie at Mountain Bell for a few years before she retired. She was always so kind to those of us who were "new" there. Always dressed to the nines! May the memories of your loved one carry you through your time of sorrow. God Bless you all.

I will always remember Roberta (Chris) as my Grandma Chattie's neighbor and dear friend. She was always so kind to our family. She had a strong faith and an unfailing love of the Lord. I will miss her dearly but I know she is with her soul mate and her creator, and I know we will see her again.

Roberta (Chris) was a great friend and neighbor. We feel very blessed to have known her. She was a person with a big and good heart. Her smile will be missed. It is a comfort to know that she is with our Lord and in heaven with Everett and we may see her again someday.
