Rosemarie was born on August 2, 1940, to Walter and Josephine (née Koloski) Jasky in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was their beloved only child, arriving after her parents had been married for twenty years. Raised in the Robbinsdale area, Rosemarie attended St. Philips Parochial School and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1958.
On January 11, 1964, Rosemarie married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Schwarz, in Minneapolis. Together they built a family and shared sixty-two devoted years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: David, Susan, and Daniel.
In 2001, Rosemarie and Gene relocated to Colorado Springs, where they enjoyed their retirement years surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the closeness of family.
Rosemarie found joy in reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with those she loved. She never met a chocolate she didn’t like and firmly believed dessert should come first. Her patience and kindness were only surpassed by her deep love for her family. Behind her calm demeanor was a rare combination of resilience, strength, compassion, and wisdom. She had a servant’s heart and believed everyone should be treated with kindness, respect, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughter, Susan Schwarz of Colorado Springs; her son, Daniel (Susan) Schwarz of Castle Rock, Colorado; and her cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth Crist and Melanie Schwarz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and her son, David Schwarz.
A Funeral Mass will be held on July 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8755 Scarborough Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. The Mass will be officiated by Father Francisco Quezada.
Following the Mass, Rosemarie’s children invite friends and family to join them for a luncheon in the church reception hall. Interment will take place afterward at Mount St. Francis Columbarium in Colorado Springs. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs.
