Obituary of Russell James Wingert
IN THE CARE OF

Mountain View Funeral & Cremation

Russell James Wingert, a proud veteran, devoted father, and beloved grandfather, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 18, 1947, to Norman and Lorraine Wingert, Russell lived a life rooted in service, love, and dedication.

A decorated veteran, Russell honorably served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. Following his military retirement, he continued to serve his country as a civil servant for an additional 24 years, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and integrity.

Russell was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Ruth, of 53 years—the love of his life—and his parents. Together, Russell and Ruth built a beautiful life centered around family and friends. He is survived by his brother Mark (Lori), sister Ann Williams (Jim), his loving children: Christina, Brian (Alicia), and Heidi (Steven); his adored grandchildren: Kayla (Caleb), Brenden, Gabriella, Kaleb (Treanna), Cameron, Ava, Lauren, Braiden, and Gracie; his precious great-grandchildren: Charlie and Lakelynn; and Tia his four-legged sidekick.

Russell will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering devotion to his family, his humble service to our nation, and his great sense of humor. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Rest easy, Dad, Grandpa, and Hero. Your mission is complete.
