

Ruth Holmes was born on March 15, 1928, and raised in Emerson, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Booker Holmes. She left this world early on July 25, 2013. She leaves behind a sister, Mary Hanson, a devoted nephew, Reginald Cooper, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.
She lived her life to the fullest. She especially enjoyed traveling. She was a military wife who traveled with her husband to various Air Force military bases in the United States and abroad. They also traveled extensively throughout the United States camping at various National Parks.
She made her home in Arkansas, Colorado and New Mexico. She appreciated each state’s individual landscape, people, and cultures. She engaged in several hobbies; bird watching, raising prize winning African violets, quilting, and painting. She was an artist at heart, whose favorite muse was landscapes and barns.
Ruth never met a stranger, everyone was a friend. She is now having stimulating conversations with heavenly beings. She will be missed.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 9:30am with a Funeral Service at 11:00am at Mountain View Mortuary. The Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
