Scott Gregory Starita

Outgoing and the life of the party, Scott drew people in with his big personality and tender heart. He could bring life to a room and find himself moved to tears while choosing greeting cards for the people he loved.

In 2020, Scott met the love of his life, Laura Cromwell, and they married shortly afterward in a private ceremony. They remained head over heels for each other, sharing bird hunts, ski trips, camping adventures, and life at home with their daughter, Penelope “Penny” Starita. Penny was the light of Scott’s life. Being her dad meant everything to him, and he wanted to give her every opportunity to learn, grow, and have the best life possible.

Scott loved hunting and fishing with his dad and friends. Just a week before his death, he harvested his first moose, a significant accomplishment in his hunting pursuits. Scott studied Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Colorado Denver, where he served as the first president of the university’s Beta Mu chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, an international risk management and insurance fraternity. Scott also co-owned Synergy Insurance Advisors with his mother, Gina. Together, they built a successful agency serving hundreds of businesses and individuals, sharing a special bond through their work.

Scott is survived by his wife, Laura; his daughter, Penelope “Penny”; his mother, Gina; his father, Randy, and stepmother, Gayle; his sister, Shayna Blaser, and her husband, Max; his brother, Randy “Vince” Starita; his maternal grandparents, Lynda and Larry Linville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by two uncles and his paternal grandparents, Alicia Dell and Lawrence Starita.

Scott will be remembered for his wholehearted love for Laura and Penny, his deep ties to family and friends, and the light he brought to the world.
