Sharon Brake passed June 16th 2024, in the loving care of her Daughter Michelle. She lived an amazing 75 years surrounded by the people that loved her, She was born August 14th 1948 to Marian L. Beverage and James Rivers. She is one of six children and the only daughter. Her husband Clifford Brake sadly passed April 28th 2020. Sharon was an accountant and a quality assurance admin for Chips company. Those may have been her job titles but its hard to express how much more she was a caretaker, a chef, a confidant, a friend, and a constant. If you knew her you would know she would give the shirt off of her back to help a stranger or push someone’s car to the gas station if they needed it. She left Louisiana to be closer to her daughter and grandkids and everyone was luckier for it. I would spend weekends begging her to make me red beans and rice drinking root beers with her on her back porch watching the birds and squirrels in her trees. She didn’t want for much and she asked for less but she was a fast friend to anyone she met and a presence in my life I will miss. It’s hard to write this but anyone who reads this needs to know how important she was to those around her. My mother said she had her flaws but damnit if I couldn’t see them, I just saw another woman who would do whatever it took to make me smile. I love you grandma and it’s hard to imagine life without you. But you raised everyone right and we can take it from here. I hope you reunite with Clifford and enjoy some time off; you will be missed and you will be loved. Sharon is survived by her daughter Michelle, her husband Geoff, (the only husband she liked) her Grandsons Nick and Andy, Granddaughters Christina and Megan, and her newly arrived Great grandson Everett. - Nicholas R. McFaul - A Graveside Service for Sharon will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
