Shirley M. Mooney

Shirley Mae Moon was born on March 26, 1941 in Fresno, California to Guy and Bonnie (Gillispie) Moon. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1953 where she met Gary Mooney. They were married in Colorado Springs on July 3, 1958. Shirley was an outdoors woman at heart. She loved hunting, fishing, and camping and always enjoyed her camping trips with Gary.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time out in her yard, and caring for her family. She will be best remembered for the way she put people before herself. She was a truly caring woman who helped everyone in any way that she could.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Gary; her daughter, Debra (husband, Craig) Osban; her mother, Bonnie Moon; and her sister, Mary Rogers. She has four wonderful grandchildren, Jake, Danielle (Kevin), Cody, and Samantha (Andrew). She was preceded in death by her father, and her son, Rick, in 2009.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
