Sofia Elizabeth Deacon

How do you sum up someone's life in just a few paragraphs? I'm not really sure, but here goes:

Our beloved Sofie was born on May 30, 1968 in Colorado Springs, CO, where she lived most of her life. Sofie was the middle daughter born to our mother, Sophia Rebecca West. She was a third generation native of Colorado Springs.

Sofie never married, but she did have two sons, Anthony Michael Deacon and Zachary James Deacon, both of Colorado Springs. Before she had her sons, Sofie absolutely adored her nieces, Becky and Sarah, and her nephew, Chris. She would spend hours playing Barbies and Hotwheels. Sofie loved being an Auntie almost as much as being a mom and grandma.

Sofie enjoyed making barrettes and jewelry. She was also a good cook, her tortillas skills were always on point.

Sofie's family meant everything to her, and her giving heart showed that in so many ways. There are so many cherished memories of growing up together. Even though our paths went in different directions at times, we always found a way back to each other, because when you have a sister you have a forever friend.

Later in life, Sofie's faith in God helped her get through a lot of tough times. I'm so thankful that Jesus was there for her when I couldn't be. And now knowing she is in the arms of our Savior and at peace, is all we could hope for.

Sofie will be forever loved and missed until the day we see her again in Heaven.

Sofie is survived by her oldest son, Anthony; his children, Angelica, A.J., and Nathan; their mother, Heather; her two sisters, Leah and Maggie and their families; her Uncle Joe and Aunt Melinda; her Auntie Margaret and cousin Albert; as well as numerous other cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
