Stanley Joseph Tuchrello of Colorado Springs passed into the eternal presence of Christ in Colorado Springs on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the age of 91. He was the loving husband for 41 years to Patricia Tuchrello.
Stanley was the eldest of five sons born to James and Grace Tuchrello in his grandmother’s home in Livonia, New York, on November 25, 1929. As a young adult, Stanley was a market farmer in his home area of upstate New York. He later moved to the West Coast, where he worked as a truck driver in California. Eventually his work took him to Joliet, Illinois. He concluded his career with Roadway Express out of Chicago, with Teamsters Local 710. He and his wife, Patricia, then retired to Colorado Springs in 1987, where he continued working part-time for another five years. He attended First Assembly, Radiant Church, and was most recently a long-time member of Friendship Assembly, where he served the congregation faithfully as an usher and a prayer partner.
Stanley enjoyed life and especially being with family. He found pleasure in working with his hands building things (especially out of wood), and repairing all manner of broken down items for anyone who crossed his path. He loved to tease and to laugh. He enjoyed country music and the Irish Tenors. He was a big fan of Westerns—books, movies, and television shows. He was known for his sweet smile, gentle eyes, helping hands, and his homemade spaghetti and meatballs. He listened close, complained little, and gave much.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Toni (Noel) Solsbery of Bend, Oregon; Lori (James) Coletta of Collierville, Tennessee; Christine (Barrett) Luketic of Round Rock, Texas; Patricia (Robb) Corum of Chicago, Illinois; and Linda (David) Bowers of Colorado Springs; brother Thomas (Linda) Tuchrello of Avon, New York; nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna; one daughter, Debra; and brothers Anthony, Michael, and Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online at dementiasociety.org.
