

Stefan Brooks Switzer, 45, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on April 13, 2017 at his home. Stefan was born April 28, 1971 at Womack Army Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Betty (Magnuson) Switzer and the late Thomas Switzer.
He graduated from Lake Forest Academy, IL; attended Bethel University, MN, and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Chicago. Stefan is survived by his mother, Betty Switzer of Sawyer, MI; his brother, Brian (Tiffany), niece Elisa, and nephew Scott of Redondo Beach, CA; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Although his life was cut short, Stefan touched the lives of many. He cared deeply about his family, his friends, and his country. He served five years of active duty in the United States Army, including a tour in Afghanistan in 2010 and a year in Germany. He enjoyed playing ice hockey, following the Chicago Blackhawks and the Grateful Dead, spending time with his dogs, and cooking on the grill. He faced many challenges in life, but his faith in Christ never wavered.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Chapel at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in Stefan’s memory to Bethel University, 3900 Bethel Dr, St. Paul, MN 55112. A scholarship will be created in his name.
