
Stephen F. Doyle, son of Francis Doyle and Lois Meador, was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 19, 1947 and has resided in Colorado Springs, CO since the age of three months. He attended Lincoln Elementary School, North Jr. High School, and graduated in 1965 from Wasson High School.
After completing his miliary service in the U.S. Army overseas, he began his career in the Colorado Springs Water Department at Mesa Water Treatment Plant retiring in 1995 as Plant Foreman. Steve enjoyed his time working in water distribution in the mountains.
Steve loved competitive sports including softball, water skiing, swimming, bicycling, and riding motorcycles. He participated in many events like motocross, road-racing, vintage trials and rode 105 enduros. He raced the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (amateur class) seven times, taking second place twice. He also loved boating, fishing, camping with family and friends and houseboat trips to Lake Powell. He was an avid photographer of all these activities.
Steve passed away at his home in Colorado Springs after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Doyle. Steve is lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and devotion to friends and family by his wife of 55 years, Janice (Miller) Doyle, daughter Laura (Edward) Porter, and grandchildren Zachary and Alexandra Porter.
Graveside Service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road on May 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
