Steve was born on November 5, 1963 in Santa Barbara, CA.
In 2003, Steve and Nicole were married in Morro Bay, a second marriage for both of them. Native Californians, they visited Colorado Springs in December 2024, when Steve told Nicole “I feel at home here” while walking downtown. Three months later, they moved to the Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood of Colorado Springs. Every day for the last 14 months, Steve would look out at Cheyenne Mountain and say how happy he was to be in Colorado.
Steve is survived by his wife Nicole; daughter Jennifer Carlson and grandchildren Sarah Jane and Luke; step-son Kyle Wilson, his wife Erin and grandchildren Cohen and Ayden; and sisters Andrea Klevens and Nicole Dailey (Dan).
In a private ceremony, Steve’s ashes will be spread in the mountains of Colorado where he found joy every day.
