

Sundar was born on August 6th, 1965 in Tamil Nadu, India to Dr. Somasundaram and Prema Rajendran. Sundar was the Rajendrans’ first child of two and is survived by his younger brother, Babu. Growing up, Sundar’s formative years were spent in Lincoln, Nebraska. As an immigrant at the age of five, Sundar quickly learned English and was very social among his friends and peers. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School, where he met many of his lifelong friends. Following high school, Sundar attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where he pursued a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After completion of his undergraduate degree, Sundar pursued a Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska.
During Sundar’s second year in medical school, he met his wife, Terry McConnell. Together they moved around during Sundar’s residency in anesthesiology, where he finished his program at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. He continued on to an anesthesia fellowship at Virginia Mason in Seattle. They were married at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha in 1995. Sundar and Terry later moved to Colorado Springs in 1995, where they started and raised their family.
Sundar is survived by his wife Terry, son Max, son Ajay, mother Prema, father Dr. Rajendran, and his brother Babu.
The family will be receiving friends and family from 1:00PM - 2:00PM, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 2:00PM, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A Reception is to follow from 3:30PM - 6:30PM at Trinity Brewery (Sundar’s favorite local brewery), 1466 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
