Susan M Burt, age 63, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. Susan was born May 23, 1958 in Wisconsin to Milt Schaeffer and Mary Ann Dragon. She had five siblings, three sisters and two brothers, Patricia Hoeppner, Robert Hanahan, Janene Borini, Gary Schaeffer, and Judy Ellinger. On May 27, 1975, Susan married Hayward Burt. May 27, 1975 and they had two sons, Shawn L. Burt and Tucker R. Burt.
Through Sue’s life, she found different paths of employment but found her nitch was working in customer service. In her plans of retirement included her job at Circle K as a manager were she was loved by many employees and customers.
Sue had a loyal dedication to NHRA and passion for NASCAR, traveling, gambling and spending quality time with family especially her son Tucker and dog Patch.
Sue is survived by her two sons, Tucker Burt (grandson Preston Burt), Shawn Burt (2 granddaughters Angel, Brittney and grandson Donavan) and 2 great grandchildren; her brother Gary (Cecil) Schaeffer, 2 sisters, Janene Borini and Judy Ellinger, and her niece and nephews Shane, Corrie, CJ, Raquel, Jaylene along with others from her birth state of Wisconsin and her beloved dog Patch.
Sue is proceeded in death by her father, mother, brother Bobby, sister Pat, two brother in law's, Mike and Jamie Burt, and special nephew in law, Brian Portschy.
As a son of Sue’s I want to extend a thank you to Encompass Health for your excellent care of my mother. I will miss my mom greatly as she was my #1, I will carry her with me in spirit and live out the memories she left to carry on.
A visitation for Susan will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
