Theresa Ann Biava, better known to most as Terrie, 64 of Colorado Springs, Colorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2022. Terrie was born March 27, 1958, to ecstatic first-time parents, John and Betty Biava. She was born and raised in Colorado Springs and graduated from Mitchell High School.(Born and raised in Colorado Springs, she graduated from Mitchell High School.) She went on to get her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley.
Terrie spent many years teaching special education for elementary aged children, a vocation she loved deeply, before retiring several years ago. She had a true love of all furry friends, and over the years she had many cats and dogs that she loved with all her heart. Her friends also meant the world to her—especially her Koinonia group and Thursday night small group. She loved her 4 nieces and nephews dearly and enjoyed spoiling them in their younger years.
Terrie spent many summers working at Flying W Ranch and teaching Vacation Bible School. She also had a special affinity for lighthouses, having explored the coast of Maine to see and enjoy some of the United States’ most unique and historical lighthouses. She loved Jesus with her whole heart and thoroughly enjoyed serving in her church, the First Methodist Church, Downtown.
Terrie is survived by her parents John and Betty Biava, younger sisters Catherine (Jonathan) Nystrom and Judith (David) Plaep, and nieces and nephews Nicole Nystrom, Colin Nystrom, Gabrielle Plaep and Elijah Plaep.
A celebration of Terrie’s life will take place December 3, 2022, at 10am at Friendship Assembly of God church located at 3685 New Center Point in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or The Navigator’s Ministry.
