My prayers for Tom's family. Wow, very sad and unexpected.

I just heard about this from an old friend - very sad news.  Tom was a kind soul and will be missed.

I'm quite shocked to see this obituary. Tried to contact Tom in Sept 2017 but I did not get a call back. Assumed he was out of town. 

A few things I remember about Tom:

1.We first worked together as programmers at Hickam AFB HI in the mid 80s. He came from Kelly AFB TX and left for Offutt AFB NE a few years later. Before that, he graduated with a BS degree from San Francisco State University.
2.We worked together again at Pete AFB CO where we both retired in early 2000's. Somehow, Tom had an affinity for CO. His dad attended UC Boulder before joining the Navy.
3.Tom was in Wash DC attending a QA seminar on 9-11-2001; he got stuck there until airports re-opened a few days later.    
4.Tom was a walking sports encyclopedia. Any sport, any player, any year  he can rattle out facts and stats any time.
5.Tom was a life-long staunch Republican who grew up in San Mateo CA. 
6.Tom was proud of his family. Everybody in our shop at Hickam got to meet his parents when he brought them in while they were visiting. His Registered Nurse sister would also visit while pulling Reservist duty out of Kelly AFB.
7.Tom was a big Beatles fan. He bought and collected CD version of their albums as soon as they came out in the 80's.   
8.Tom was a jury member on a couple of high-profile cases in Colorado Springs.
9.Tom came by for holiday dinner a few times at our home in Hickam and CO. He loved leading the prayers. Our family and friends were fond of him.
