Vera Selena (Osburn) Hinshaw is now resting in the arms of her Savior.
She was born in Homer, Louisiana to Edgar R. Osburn and Lena P.
(Price) Osburn, both deceased. Also preceding her in death is son Mark
Evans Hinshaw who died in infancy.
Vera was a mensa who ever sought to expand her mind in productive and
social activities. She was a Master Gardener and was active in the African
Violet Club of Colorado Springs. She was a long time member of the Doll
Dreamers Club and made porcelain dolls many of which were awarded
blue ribbons at many venues. She was an avid reader and writer of
many witty and beautiful poems. Vera excelled at cake decorating and
candle making. Her many talents were passed on to her daughters
Leanna and Leslie who produce many quality pieces of craft work. Vera
was an Air Force brat and upon her marriage to Bob became the Ideal Air
Force Wife. They were married October 12, 1952
at Perrin AFB, Texas.
She supported and served by his side with distinction.
During her Air Force years she taught Sunday School and was active in
Girl Scout activities as a leader and mentor for youngsters at their various
Air Force assignments. She loved God, her family and country and left a
legacy for all to emulate. Vera was happiest when the family gathered for
various celebrations. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United
Methodist Church in Security.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Robert; daughters Leanna
(Rick); Leslie (Alan); grandchildren Richard, Robert, Tamara, Mallory,
Haley and Zachary; great grandchildren Arthur, Jacen, Brandon and
Blake.
Viewing will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Swan Law with funeral service at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Swan Law Funeral Home with interment to follow at
Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, folks may, if desired, make a donation in her memory to
the Parkinsons Disease Foundation or Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation,
