

She was born October 5, 1941 in Greeley, CO. to Elmer and Cecil Elliott.
Verda was raised on farms in the Greeley area. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1959 and obtained her career training at Parks School of Business, Denver, CO.
Verda and Andy met each other at Greeley High School. On June 10, 1960 she married Andrew Bistline at the First Presbyterian Church of Greeley. After a short honeymoon she and Andy moved to Oak Harbor, Washington where Andy was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. Verda was employed as a bookkeeper for the local department store. The following year they were transferred to Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA where they lived for five years. During that time Andy chose to make Naval Aviation his career and their two daughters were born at the Naval Medical Center near Balboa Park.
In 1965 they were transferred to Silver City, NM for recruiter duty and later to Albuquerque for duty in the Officer Recruiting Office. Albuquerque is where they learned to square dance. In 1970 they were transferred to Moffett Field Naval Air Station in Mountain View, CA. during which time they also lived for a several months in Iwakuni, Japan. There Verda enjoyed learning to cook Japanese food and flower arranging. In 1974 they made their final Navy transfer to Colorado Springs, CO. where they bought their first home. At that point Verda went to work at Daniels Chevrolet in the bookkeeping department where she held almost every position in her 20 years there.
Verda and Andy loved square dancing and found a club in every location they lived during their many years in the Navy and in retirement. After retiring Verda and Andy spent most of their winters in Mesa, AZ where they met up with friends for dancing, squares and rounds, and other activities. Verda continued to dance for as long as she could and enjoyed time with her dance friends. The friendships continued after she was no longer able to dance.
Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Andy Bistline, two daughters, Verlene Bistline of Colorado Springs, CO and Andra McNally of Whispering Pines, NC. Verlene has three children, Veren, Aaron and Emma all of Colorado Springs. Andra has two children Melissa Velisek of Carthage, NC with two grandchildren Cayden and Aurland. Her second daughter is Morgan Seeton of Casper, WY.
Memorial Service is August 6th 10 AM at Church on the Ranch, Colorado Springs, CO. Private internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley, CO.
