Vernon "Scrappy" Tharp 100 of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015. Vernon was born December 1, 1915 in Sieling, Oklahoma to John and Susan Tharp. Vernon was the eldest of 10 children. He is preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and wife Dorothy Tharp. Vernon is survived by his daughters Judith Kay French and Bunny Lee Treat, sisters Lometa Rathgaber and Izora Sargeant as well 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A Memorial will be held, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 1225 Lake Plaza Dr., Colorado Springs, CO. 80906. A Visitation will be held, Monday, January 4, 2016 from 11:00-12:00 with burial to follow all at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO. 80910.
