Virginia ("Ginger") Irene Klingensmith, 88, of Colorado Springs went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 8, 2011.
Ginger was a loving mother of five: Ray (Jewel) of Canon City, Lydia, John, Pamela (Ribley) and James (Beth)
of Colorado Springs, grandmother of eight: Eric, Michelle, Tom, Sean, Linzey, Desire', Cari, and B.J. and
great-grandmother of four: Kaitlyn, Tyler, Cooper, and Destin. Ginger was a resident of Colorado Springs for over
sixty years and was a longtime member of Roswell Community Church where she ran vacation bible schools, the annual
yard sales, and was also the song leader. The last 3 years she attended Gateway Presbyterian Church. Ginger loved to go
to Cripple Creek and play card games, loved to watch golf, tennis, and baseball on TV, and was an avid bowler and quilter.
She was born September 16, 1922 in Marysville, Ohio, the fifth of twelve children. She worked at Wright-Patterson
AFB in Dayton during WW2, where she met and married David Park Klingensmith. She also worked as a governess
for the Donner family of Colorado Springs.
Services will be held at Gateway Presbyterian Church, 731 Castle on the West Side on Friday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m.
