
Viva Anna Brown passed away on Friday, August 6th in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 93. Viva was born on September 20, 1916 in Sedgwick, Kansas the fifth of seven children of George and Charlotte Mulch. On November 21, 1937 she married Winston Brown to whom she was married for 68 years. In 1946, they settled in Downs, Kansas and remained there until 1959 when they relocated to Topeka, Kansas.
Viva was a bookkeeper at the Shawnee County Co-Op and was active in her church and belonged to several bridge clubs. After retiring to Rogers, AR, Viva and Winston enjoyed many years of golf, gardening, boating, bridge and travel. She was a very gracious hostess and loved visiting with family and hosting family events. It was in 1991 that Viva and Winston moved to Colorado Springs.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Winston Brown; her four brothers, Everett, Vernon, Eugene and Leo; two sisters, Erma and Charlotte.
She is survived by two sons Ron (Rosanne) of Black Forest, CO, Dwane (Kathie) of Carrollton, TX, four grandchildren; Steven Brown of San Francisco, CA, Christine Melton of Black Forest, CO, Jason Brown of Little Elm, TX and Jarad Brown of Lewisville, TX, three great grandsons; Gavin, Michael and Eric.
Memorial service will be held in Colorado Springs at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Alterra Wynwood Assisted Living, 2780 Vickers Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
Memorial service will be held in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 803 South College Street, Scott City, KS 67871.
