
Vivian Imogene Herrington Spradlin, 94, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 after suffering a severe brain bleed from a fall occurring on April 25th, 2026. Vivian was born on November 1, 1931 in Avery, Texas to Wayne and Ora Herrington.
Vivian was a seamstress and homemaker after marrying Jack in 1951. She loved being a mommy and raising her two daughters. She was always very involved in her church, as well as a craft club in Garland, Texas, where she lived from 1958-2022. Her hobbies were reading, painting, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching and playing games. She also loved traveling - taking many long driving trips with Jack and her girls, as well as taking trips with her church group including a trip to Israel, and the numerous “sister trips” she enjoyed with her 9 sisters. She lived the last four years of her life in Colorado Springs where she enjoyed watching her 4 great granddaughters grow up.
Preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ora Herrington; Jack Spradlin, her first husband of 44 years; James Burrus, her second husband of 19 years; and three sisters Patricia L. Blankenship, Linda J. Power, and Hazel D. Collvins. Vivian is survived by daughters Martha McIver (Neil) of Big Sandy, Texas; Becky Hehr (Ron) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Jessica Sherrill (Jim) of Lakewood, Colorado, and Bryan Hehr (Rachel) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and 4 great-granddaughters Kathryn Sherrill, Rachel Sherrill, Evangeline Hehr and Lyla Juniper Vivian Hehr. Also survived by six sisters - DeLoyce Minter, Betty Minter, Ruby Garrett, Edith Auston, Sandra Jones, Kathy Farmer; two brothers - Larry Herrington (Jean) and David Herrington (Janie); 27 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Vivian’s service will be held June 15th, 2026 at 10:00 am at Oak View Baptist Church, 1004 S. Story Rd, in Irving, Texas. She will be interred at Restland Cemetery with Jack Spradlin.
