After graduating Fountain High School he met and married his lifelong love Shirley McMaster in 1947. Ward spent his life working in and around Fountain putting mechanical systems in many of the building being used today. After retirement he and Shirley set out to see the western part of the country, from Alaska to Texas. Spending winters in south Texas where fishing was always the activity of the day, and returning to Colorado Springs for the summer, where fishing was still the activity of the day. They stopped their travels in 2007-08 and spent his last days enjoying family and friends.
Ward is survived by his loving wife Shirley, and their 3 boys, Clarence, Robert, Wayne, and a girl Vickie, with 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Ward asked that you take a grandchild to lunch.
