It’s been 7 years since you “went West”. Just know that you are not forgotten by me and the rest of The 421st Black Widows. I regularly think of you and tell current and former “Widders” about the wild combat missions we had together over the “friendly skies” of Southeast Asia.

Hard to believe it's been 5 years since "Weird Wayne" passed.  But every day at 4:21 I remember him along with other fellow 421st Black Widows that have "gone West".  RIP good buddy.

 My condolences to the Skora family.  I just became aware of Wayne's passing and am truly saddened.  I flew combat missions with Wayne in the  back seat of F-4s and he was a supurb pilot and a true Warrior.  I learned a lot from him and always felt safe during missions with him.  I only made contact with "Wierd Wayne"  once via email over the decades and took for granted we would be around forever and connect at a 421st Black Widow Reunion and toast our fellow Warriors with Crown Royal as we did on many occasions in Thailand.  It's an interesting coincidence that his son also flew with the 421st Black Widows.  I will let fellow Black Widows know that Wayne has "gone West" and we will toast his memory at the upcoming 20 September 2019 Black Widow All Eras Reunion here at Hill AFB, Utah.  While "Weird Wayne" is not here to say it, I'm sure he would tell us to follow the Black Widow mantra, "Widders, Keep on Keepin' On!"

I am very sorry to hear about the Colonel’s pre-mature  passing.  I was the the Intel Chief at the 24th Comp Wng in Panama 1989-1990.  Col Škora was a good man and good leader.  He made a positive impression on those who knew him.  May you find peace and tranquility knowing he was a special person.

I am so sadden to hear of “Uncle” Wayne’s passing.  I am really not sure how he and Dee became friends with my parents, but I remember Wayne stopping by to see us in Omaha, Nebraska. Unfortunately, it was a cold Nebraska winter and Wayne had forgotten soda cans in the car. He was meet by soda cicles in the car after the cans exploded. He used a tool for his road trips that I found so cool as a kid. It was a  device like a pen, but on one end it had a wheel. He would trace the road on a map and it would tell him how many miles it was to his next destination. I loved hearing his stories of his travels and if I am ever buried and need to know which way is up, I will remember Wayne’s story of being buried in snow on a ski trip. I learned that day, the simple act (for most of us) is simply to spit. I had not seen Wayne in  26 years, but I often think of the Skora family. I know words cannot take away the pain of losing  husband, a father, brother, grandfather, but I do sincerely hope the fond memories of Wayne will comfort Dee, Tonya, Christopher and the rest of the Skora family.  My heart is heavy for their loss. you will always be in my thought prayers. 

Wayne is my brother-in-law and was always warm and caring.  He took excellent care of my sister.  
I will never forget the first time I met my lovely niece Tanya.  They were on their way to see us and due to tire  in middle of 2 lane caused them to loose there manifold system.  We took a tow bar and towed them to Salt Lake so they could get it fixed.  
My siste is quite the rummy player her and my late husband spent many nights playing rummy as Wayne spent his last tour of duty over Veit Nam.

I, indeed, was one of those privileged to have known Wayne and his wonderful family.  He was  a great Air Force mate.  He was always calm and willing to help--a totally unselfish man.    Our paths intersected frequently throughout our careers and our family members interacted and forged lasting relationships.  Dee is such a supportive wife and their love for each other was palpable.    I was always happy when I was with Wayne and felt enriched by his friendship.  I wish I could have spent more time in his company during our retirement.  I hope for friendly skies for my old Air Force friend; may he rest in peace.
