

Wilfriede Mariechen Grover was 94 years old when she passed away in Castle Rock, Colorado on January 26, 2018. Wilfriede (Wille) is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Mark) Baumgart; brother, Roland (Gudrun) Augustin; sister In-law, Ursel Augustin; nephew, Bernt Augustin; and two nieces, Marion (Uwe) Glockner and Ramona (Gunther) Flath. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Grover; three brothers, Ziegfried, Werner and Horst Augustin and one sister, Margot Wanderka.
Willie was born in Olbernhau Germany, to Paul and Emma Augustin. She met her husband, First Sargent Charles (Charlie) Grover in Germany after World War II, while they were both working for the United States Army. Willie and Charlie were married on September 20, 1948 in Geissen, Germany. Their daughter, Patty was born on August 1, 1960 in Worms, Germany.
The Grover’s traveled back and forth between Germany and the United States finally making Colorado Springs their home in 1968.
Willie enjoyed gardening and her pets, over the years the family had many dogs and cats. Misty Dog was her favorite, spending their last years together. She loved working outside, tending to her large flower garden and taking care of the yard. Willie also loved to cook and to share and teach recipes from her childhood to her daughter, Patty and son-in-law, Mark. Even though she was a great cook, Willie’s favorite meal was a brotchen with butter and sugar dipped in coffee.
We miss her terribly and will embrace her love in our hearts for eternity!
A visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Philip In The Field Episcopal Church, 397 N Perry Park Rd., Sedalia, CO 80135. A funeral service will follow at 11AM and final interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
