William R Crook

Bill graduated from Meeker High School with the Class of 1965. Shortly after, he attended the University of Colorado in Boulder for a semester before choosing to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably for three years, including a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning stateside, he was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, where he met the love of his life, Nancy. The two were married for 56 wonderful years, raising four children and later finding immense joy in their grandchildren.

Bill dedicated 43 years of his career to Rampart Distributing, working as a draft salesman until his retirement in 2013. In retirement, he and Nancy embraced their love of travel and treasured every moment spent with family.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Bill especially loved cheering on his grandchildren in their many activities—baseball, basketball, dance, track, and volleyball. He was also a devoted University of Colorado football fan, traveling across the country to attend bowl games. Beyond sports, Bill found great satisfaction in woodworking, spending countless hours in his workshop crafting furniture for loved ones. He also made frequent trips back to his hometown of Meeker, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Crook; his sister, Merle Moyer; his brother, Chuck Crook; and two sons, Bruce and Brent Crook.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Nancy Crook (Cruse) of Colorado Springs; his son, Kevin Crook, and wife, Shelley, along with their children, Olivia and Quinn, also of Colorado Springs; and his daughter, Kindra Green, and husband, Chris, along with their children, Cade, Kallie, and Rylee, of Wiggins, Colorado. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Walt, Bob, and Les Crook; his sister, Betty Garver; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Bill's honor on Friday, June 20th, 2025 at 10:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
