Bill was born on July 2, 1959, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to William Arthur Eddy Sr. and Loretta Eddy. A lifelong Colorado Springs resident, he attended Harrison High School, where he formed many friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life.
In 1976, Bill enlisted in the United States Army, eager to serve his country. Although a seizure disorder ultimately prevented him from continuing his military career, he remained proud of his decision to enlist and the commitment it represented. The experience reflected the courage, determination, and sense of duty that would continue to shape his character throughout his life.
Following his time with the Army, Bill worked as a landscaper and house painter, trades that allowed him to put his strong work ethic and attention to detail to good use. Landscaping, in particular, became a lifelong passion. He had a gift for transforming ordinary spaces into beautiful landscape and took great pride in his work. His love of landscaping extended far beyond his career and could be seen every day in the yard he carefully maintained and admired.
Bill appreciated hard work and took pride in doing things right. He also loved trucks and was meticulous about keeping them clean, well-maintained, and in good working order. Whether it was maintaining his yard, painting a home, or caring for his vehicles, Bill believed in taking care of the things that mattered to him. Few things brought him more satisfaction than standing back and admiring a job well done or seeing something he had worked hard to make beautiful.
In 2004, Bill met the love of his life, Cheryl Copeland. Their relationship blossomed into a partnership that spanned more than twenty years and was built on love, companionship, laughter, respect, and unwavering support. Together they shared countless adventures, quiet moments, and cherished memories that will forever remain close to Cheryl's heart.
Bill kept a close circle of friends, but those fortunate enough to be part of that circle knew exactly what kind of man he was. He was generous, loving, and the kind of person who would move mountains for a friend in need. While Bill may have taken time to get to know someone, once he considered you a friend, you had a loyal friend for life.
Bill also enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He had a fondness for blackberry brandy and preferred it straight from the bottle, always willing to share a drink or two with a friend.
Animals held a special place in Bill's heart. He adored his beloved cats, Lucy and Bugz, who brought him comfort, companionship, and endless entertainment. He also carried fond memories of his cherished cat, Billie, who passed before him and remained forever loved.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur Eddy Sr. and Loretta Eddy, and by his sister, Lorena Bamesberger (nee Eddy).
He is survived by his beloved partner, Cheryl Copeland; his niece, Angelique Hatton; nephews Kent Bamesberger, Jarrod Bamesberger, and Zane Bamesberger; great-nephews Bradley Hatton, Kyle Bamesberger, Kane Bamesberger, and Evan Bamesberger.
Though his journey on this earth has ended, Bill's laughter, wisdom, and love will continue on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, family, and unforgettable memories.
