Bill was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on May 19th, 1963, to William Moore Glenfield and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Glenfield. Bill went to school in Hamilton, graduating from Sherwood Secondary School (High School) in 1981 and then Mohawk College with a diploma in accounting. In 1986 Bill joined the Canadian Forces, where he served 25 years in various postings across Canada, Germany, and the U.S., until he retired here in Colorado in 2011.
His love for animals led him to his next career endeavor as a Raptor Rehabilitator at the Pueblo Raptor Center, now part of the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center. Bill was a kind and gentle person and a hard worker. When he wasn’t working or walking, you could typically find him reading one of his many history books.
Bill will be missed greatly, but the impact of his friendship, partnership, dedication, humor, and gentle soul will remain with all those fortunate to have known him. Bill is survived by his wife, Debora (Debbie) Elam.
A celebration of Bill’s life is in planning and will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers please make donations to any animal charity of your choice in Bill’s honor.
