Bill Mellin, age 36 of Colorado Springs suddenly passed away on June 11, 2026.

Bill was born on July 17, 1989 in El Paso, Texas to Ken and Eydie Mellin. He was brother to John and Ashley. He graduated from Fairfax High School Fairfax, VA in 2007. Bill and his sister Ashley were involved with the high school band and the Villa Gorillas swim team which is part of the NVSL. Bill was the drummer for the Fairfax Jazz Band and a member of the Marching and Symphonic Bands and also the Drumline. During high school he was invited to attend American Music Abroad where he traveled with other musicians to Austria, Germany and Normandy Beach in France.

Bill and his older brother John shared a love of music and skiing. There were many family ski trips to Taos, New Mexico and various places in Colorado.

Bill’s hobbies included playing drums, guitar, keyboard, singing and writing music with one of his best friends Ryan. Bill was a member of the band Missions to Mercury based out of Ft. Collins, CO where he attended Colorado State University. Bill also loved cooking, drawing and camping.

Bill is survived by his Mother Eydie Mellin, brother Kenneth John Mellin Jr. sister Ashley D’Alessio(Josh), niece Julee, best friend Laura, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth John Mellin.

A Service will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado which is a non-profit that is dear to his Mother’s heart.
