Winnie “Windy” Ruth Howell, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2012.
She was surrounded by her family who love her and will miss her dearly.
She worked for Civil Service for 30 years. Her career took her around the world, from Bushy
Hall, England; Dayton, Ohio; Houston, Texas and Sunny Mead, CA. In Anchorage, Alaska she was the Wing Commander’s secretary. Then to Aviano, Italy and finally retired in Colorado from the Air Force Academy on May 15th, 1992. After retiring she enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband Jack throughout the U. S. and Europe.
She enjoyed and loved reading, music, traveling, fishing, camping, gardening, and cooking for friends and family. She loved her puppy Liz who was with her for 14 years.
She is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Flaudia and husband Gary, son Jack “Bo” and wife Vena and her grandson James.
She is preceded by in death by her parents Bob and Minnie Permenter, and her siblings Chester, Flaudia, Bobby, Ishmel, Pallie and Bruce.
Visitation will be held on Sunday , September 23 at 10:00 am at Mountain View Mortuary with a
Service to follow at 12:00. Burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
