Wolfgang “Xavier” Massie, 18, of Colorado Springs, died November 28th, 2020 a victim of a violent crime. He was born June 29th, 2002 in Pueblo. He is survived by his parents Bruce Massie and Jessica Campbell, and mother Michelle Ruehlen; sisters Samantha, Kehlani, Angelina, Cheyanne, and Dakota; brother Zebulon and a large extended family. He will be greatly missed as he was loved by everyone who knew him.
Xavier was a Colorado native who always enjoyed being outdoors. Xavier’s hobbies included fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and many more. He took every opportunity to seek adventure in nature. He was a member of the Pikes Peak Pickleball Association and had enjoyed playing the sport and taking part in competitions for several years. He was a force on the pickleball court, a person who surprised you because he would light up and hustle after every hit or last minute save. He also enjoyed playing football, and was on the JV football team at Coronado High School.
Xavier was a brother and a best friend, and always knew how to light up any room he went into. He was shy and reserved but he could always find a way to make you laugh, he loved music and driving. He was so young, he had just started living and had his whole life ahead of him.
Even though his life was short, he made an impact on his family and friends that will never be forgotten. Friends and family would describe Xavier as an observer with a fire within, he was calm and reserved on the outside, but thriving on the inside. His kind heart was apparent in his whole presence. He was a sweetheart and a peaceful person. The world was brighter and easier with him in it. While we may not know why he was taken from this earth, God has a plan for everything and his family and friends will remember his name and his legacy.
“Life may be long or life might be short but it is always too short for sorrows, for the deepest wound that bleeds today will be but a scar tomorrow, though your ship may sail on a stormy sea if you hold to this creed tightly the storm of today will pass away and the sun shines tomorrow brightly” ~ author believed to be Celestina “Chris” Griefenberg
A private celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 11th at 2:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors. The service will also be live streamed through Swan Law, please see their website for more information. His family has chosen to remember Xavier’s legacy each year going forward with a camping and fishing trip in August.
