Born 11 weeks early, Zev entered the world as a fighter. Though small at the start, he showed remarkable strength and resilience, overcoming every obstacle in his path and growing into a bright, joyful, and curious little boy.
Zev had a deep love for dinosaurs and seemed to know them all. Books were a huge part of that love; he would eagerly flip through pages, memorizing names, facts, and stories, often sharing them with anyone who would listen while deciding which dinosaur he wanted to bring home. He loved books as much as the air he breathed, and many nights he would fall asleep with one in his hands, still learning, still dreaming. He also loved trucks; especially dump trucks and fire trucks; and delighted in watching them pass by. Pizza was his favorite treat, and it never failed to make him smile.
He loved attending preschool, where his intelligence, curiosity, and kindness stood out. Zev was quick to learn, gentle in spirit, and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed by his classmates, teachers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Zev is survived by his loving mother, Laura Ginnett, his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Ginnett, and his uncle, Bradley Ginnett, who will carry his memory with them always.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Virginia and Richard Absher, and Eleanor and Hubert Ginnett, his great uncle and aunt Richard and Kathy Absher, his great aunt and uncle Bunny and Bill Dare, his great aunt Dixie (Lee) Cook, and his great uncle Rey (Susan) Martinez. His family finds comfort in imagining him being reunited with them; guided by Mom-Mom's steady presence and Pop-Pop's warm, familiar way, perhaps even enjoying a tractor ride, devouring ice cream, or sitting close by as stories are read and shared.
A celebration of Zev's life is planned for May 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Monument Community Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Zev's honor by contributing a book to "Zev's Corner," through Mountain View Montessori in Parker, by donating to the Denver Health Foundation in Zev's name, or by donating to the Ronald McDonald House in Denver, also in Zev's name.
