Adolfo Camarena was born on January 5th, 1930 to Teofilo (Tom) and Epigmenia Camarena. Adolfo was born and raised in Colton, CA, his father bought a bar which was converted into a house. Adolfo spent most of his life living on West L Street in Colton. He was one of ten children, there were seven boys and three girls (one of the girls, Eleanor died as a baby, this is why Adolfo's eldest daughter Angela was given the middle name of Eleanor).
Adolfo attended Garfield Elementary school in Colton. However due to ridicule and racism from the teachers he dropped out of elementary school and went to work to help support the family.
Adolfo married his first and only wife, Mary Ann on March 17, 1973 in Las Vegas, NV. He helped in raising her daughter Tina. Later they had two daughters of their own Angela and Katherine. Eventually they divorced, however Adolfo remained an active part of Mary and the girls' lives. Mary had a daughter (Sylvia) from another relationship. Adolfo picked up the girls every weekend and took them to church every Sunday, it wasn't long before he started taking Sylvia too, needless to say Sylvia became one of Adolfo's daughters too. Mary and Adolfo didn't always have the perfect relationship, however after many years they began to realize that they were each other's best friend. For many people it was hard to understand how two people that had divorced could be such an important part or each others lives. Mary passed away on November 19, 2012 and from that day forward Adolfo was never the same, he said life wasn't the same and he had a broken heart because he lost the love of his life.
Adolfo worked as a forklift operator for over 30 years for Johnson Bateman Company in Ontario, CA.
Adolfo was a devout Christian and was a member of Templo Calvario in Perris, CA. Additionally he was involved with several food ministries throughout the Inland Empire.
Adolfo enjoyed fishing and vacationing with his family at Convict Lake, near Mammoth, CA.
Adolfo is survived by his three daughters, Angela, Katherine and Sylvia, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Adolfo touched so many live throughout his 83 years of life, he will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
Adolfo will have a Funeral Service on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Montecito Mortuary in the Valley View Chapel with Burial to follow at Montecito Memorial Park, both in Colton, California.
