Alice Lucille Swinton Hill was born October 5, 1921 in Ferrell, Arkansas to her parents, Arthur Swinton and Jessie Ellis. After moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, she was employed at the University Hospital as a Supervisor in the Central Supply Department. Mrs. Hill rendered many dutiful years of service before retirement. She was married to Clifford Hill, and to this union two children were born.
Mrs. Hill loved the Lord and she enjoyed singing praises to God. Expressing her passion, she formed a gospel singing group with friends and would sing at different engagements and church functions. She strongly believed in helping others in need. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas and later she united with Greater Center Star Church in Little Rock, Arkansas under the leadership of the late Pastor Limmie Downs. Mrs. Hill was a great joy to everyone that knew her.
She was very kind, she loved people, and she has many friends that adored her. She loved her family and her family loved and adored her kindness. Her bright smile radiated the room of everyone in her presence. Following her retirement, Mrs. Hill relocated to San Bernardino, California where she resided with her youngest daughter, Sharon Hill.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Swinton; Mother, Jessie Ellis; Two Brothers, Sam Bethel and Charlie Bethel, and Ex-husband, Clifford Hill.
Alice Lucille Swinton Hill departed this life on Saturday January 12, 2019 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, CA. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters, Muneerah Qaasim (Alim) of Little Rock, AR. And Sharon Hill of San Bernardino, CA; Seven grandchildren, Derrick Charles, Robert Neasley Jr., Dontisha Spring Rivas, Tiffany Spring, Amirah Qaasim Daily, Alim Qaasim, and Najiyyah Qaasim. Mrs. Hill was also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, other relatives, and friends.
