I can’t imagine a world without you in it. Everything feels wrong when I imagine that you could really be gone. I’ll forever be in awe of your courage, your strength, and your determination, always knowing and fighting for exactly what you want. You always tried to give me confidence because you knew it was hard for me to find it on my own. When you noticed I was too stressed or quiet, you helped me have fun. You encouraged me to adventure, to expand my horizons. If I could go back, I would. I’d ask you everything and I’d write it all down for when I feel like I do now. I feel like I can still go back to those few days that summer, exploring Monterey on a cold but sunny day with nothing to do. I find the most comfort when feeling like you’re still here. Not some distant place I can’t reach, but all around. You’re the breeze in the blistering heat, the gap in the clouds on a gloomy day, the shades of pink in the sunset, and the mourning doves singing softly when I wake. I will never have the capacity to imagine a world without you, so I chose to find you everywhere instead.

My beautiful Mali,  I just want to thank you for being such an amazing friend, with a heart of gold, and a smile for days.  I miss you dearly.  I will cherish all of our time together; especially our talks, laughs and cries. Who am I going to find to carpool with who would fill up the trunk and backseat with clothes for a two day visit, and then go shopping because we had nothing to wear?  No one - cause you're irreplaceable.  Life wasn't supposed to happen like this, we still had so much more to do.  We talked about hiring a driver to drive us to visit (or just make one of our boys drive us) when we got to that age, or just invest in a motorhome.  I could go on, and on about all the plans we had for our future travels. But for now, until we meet again, rest in paradise.

I miss you so much and love you with all I have. I was blessed to have you as my mother. You taught me to be strong and not give a care in the world what other thought. I can hear your voice saying to have fun and to live life and love unconditionally and whole heartedly. We miss you so much. Your memory and spirit live on and I am so thankful to have so many happy memories and times shared with you!
