

Angie Lopez, 87, of Colton passed away peacefully September 27, 2017. Angie was born May 30, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of Cresencia Leon of Colton. Her husband LeRoy Lopez of San Bernardino, both preceded her in death.
Angie is survived by her two daughters Cynthia of Long Beach and Linda of Beaumont, California, two grandchildren Angelina Flores of Long Beach and Ramiro Saldana Jr. of Carlsbad, brothers George Leon, Joe Leon, Tom Leon, and Roy Leon of Colton, brother Jerry Leon of Tucson, Arizona, sisters Ermalinda Moya and Theresa Leon, both of Colton.
Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and great-aunt passed away at home. She was a life-long resident of Colton, California. Angie, along with her husband LeRoy, were the owners of Leon’s Beauty Centre located in the La Cadena Center in Colton, as well as in Highland and Rialto.
She graduated from Colton High School in 1951, went onto a cosmetology trade school successfully graduating and had a thriving career for over 35 years. She married LeRoy Lopez of San Bernardino in January 1956 and had 38 loving years together.
Angie had an amazing life. In the early years of marriage, she and her husband doted on her 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She included family in all types of adventures, trips to Disneyland and the beach. When her two daughters entered the world, she made her home a warm safe place to raise her two girls. She lovingly welcomed into her home, her two beautiful grandchildren and her son-in-law. Angie loved her family above all else.
Angie also loved her garden, she tirelessly tended to her roses, planted trees and flowers, and poured her heart, at times her sorrows and struggles into making her garden a personal paradise.
Her final wish was to be at home surrounded by her family, her garden, everything she worked so hard for and was most dear to her. After a month-long stay at Redlands Community Hospital, Angie’s wish was granted. At home in Colton, she continued her fight for life for three additional months before she peacefully died in her sleep with family by her side.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 11th at Montecito Memorial Park 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton. Viewing begins at 930am, services at 11am, burial to follow where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
