I miss my aunt Annie every day and I feel her in a lot of things that I do. I am so blessed to have experienced her for as long as I did in my life. I’m so happy that I got to know her. I will forever miss reading with her and homework help with her but she is the reason that I know how to write essays so effectively. She knew what she was doing even when I didn’t. Thank you for instilling the importance of education in each and every one of us. And being such an inspiration. I know you’re looking down on us and checking on us. You have always been an angel. I love you.

Granny Annie,
I really miss you, but I'm happy that you're in no more pain. I have the best memories with you and its the good times that make me smile when I think about you. You have had an immense impact on my life and you have guided me to the teaching profession, something that I never even thought of. However, I'm sure that the Holy Spirit revealed that to you.:-) I know that you would be very proud of the progress I've made in my educational journey. I love you very much.

She will be absent from you in body, but not absent in memories, and that's both special and unique.  I met Sister Wright and her sister, Sister Nealy many years ago when we were members of the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Pastored by the late Elder Joshua Jeffries in the city of Los Angeles, Californa.  Both she and her sister were ardent and dedicate workers with the children/youth of Pentecostal Temple . . . in short, they were an asset to that Work and Ministry. Dear Granny, it is me, Natasha. I miss you so much and I cannot believe that you are not here with me because I need you right now. You being gone is like you were gone forever. If only I had a chance to say, goodbye, I would have taken it but it was too late for me. God had taken you a little too early. You were strong in the heart, I had hoped you stayed longer to say goodbye. Now you are in heaven with no more pain inside, but stronger than ever before. This is a note to you saying how much I miss you and love you. I will soon see you again in heaven where we could celebrate together. I will make you proud by getting my diploma. That is my goal.

While visiting my daughter one day I heard a commotion coming from her kitchen. It was Grannie Annie saying "you're just being stupid. You can do this!" Knowing all the time that the word stupid would provoke my daughter into proving her wrong. Which is exactly what Grannie Annie intended her to do. Grannie Annie had the gift of teaching.  She would push the very button to provoke you into giving more. Then with a smile she would say "I knew you could do it."

My name is April Womack, I remember visiting Aunt Annie (Yes, that's what I called her too :-) way back in 1985 with her neice Cynthia Bryant.  What a joy it was meeting her, Uncle Frank and Aunt Bertha!!  I fell in love with California and I fell in love with Aunt Annie. Her warm spirit is unforgettable. She showed such hospitality to us and I had the pleasure of seeing her a few more times since when she visited New Jersey. Aunt Annie was a kind and loving person with a lot of wisdom. I'll never forget you.  With all my love and respect, God bless your resting soul.

OH WHAT A GREAT LOSS WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING AT THIS SAD TIME IN OUR LIFE. MY AUNT ANNIE WAS A GEM, WE COULD NOT HAVE HAD A BETTER AUNT THAN THIS PRECIOUS WOMAN. To the family of Annie B. Wright,

I was saddened to hear of the death of Annie.  She and I became friends when she first came to Los Angeles in 1958, and I was living on my own for the first time.  We were roommates at a YWCA home and became lifelong friends. We later moved into an apartment with her sister Bertha and son Donnie, (who became my godson). Annie was always someone I could talk to and receive an honest answer.  We were there for each other through marriage, birth of my daughter and lots of other life experiences. We were both employed by the Los Angeles County Hospital.  She later went on to school and became a Teacher and I a Nurse. She will be missed, but I will always treasure some of the wisdom that she shared with me. I extend my Sympathies and blessings to the family and remember the wisdom that I am sure that she shared with you.

To the family of our friend, Mrs Annie B. Wright.  We want you to know that Annie will truly be missed because of her great love for her brothers and sisters at Kansas Avenue SDA Church.  Her warm smile and kind words were all it took to sometimes make a person's mood change.  Her Christian demeanor was a living testimony that the spirit of Jesus Christ dwelt within her.  It was our great pleasure to have known her for a little while.  Be strong and may the love, peace, joy, mercy and grace of God abide with/in all of you always.

As an elder of Kansas Avenue and a new teacher in Annie's Sabbath School Class, I want to join in expressing my heartfelt condolences to the beloved family and friends of Annie.  Be comforted today for we know that she sleeps in Jesus.  "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" Psalm 116:15

Sweet, Kind, Loving, Gracious, Caring, Unstoppable…these are the words that immediately come to mind when I think of sister Annie Wright.  Everyone we meet can teach us something to take for this journey we call Life; Annie taught me through watching her the responsibility, the privilege, of helping others to help themselves no matter how up in years you are.  No such thing as "retire" for Sis. Wright!  She was a soldier teaching English as a second language to others.  She was a Teacher! in AND outside her classroom by her sweet example.  Until then…...

I am so glad I was able to see you and hug you on Thanksgiving Day! Although you were in physical pain, you were always so wonderful, warm, and sweet. You will be missed!
