Anthony was born to his mother Madge (Choate) Tipton and Father Elmer Tipton (both deceased) on May 28, 1951 in Livingston, Tennessee. Anthony grew up in Allardt Tennessee and attended Allardt Elementary School, York Institute High School, in Jamestown, TN and graduated from Narimasu High School In Japan.
Anthony retired from the United States Air Force after serving for 21 years from 8/1/70 - 9/15/91. During his military career he met and married his soulmate Eva Maldonado-Tipton. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued his career working in the VA Hospital for 18 years. He worked from Palo Alto, CA to Atlanta, GA and finally returned to California to the Loma Linda VA Hospital. Anthony loved working in the yard and gardening. He enjoyed planting flowers and his favorite plant was the cactus. He enjoyed reading suspense, mystery and wartime books. He also enjoyed watching The History Channel and The Discovery Channel. Anthony loved to host family gatherings, which was one of the reasons he and Eva returned to California. His favorite vacation spot was the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. During his spare time he would relax at home in the pool or the hot tub.
Anthony is survived by his wife Eva Maldonado-Tipton, his 3 children Christina (Tipton) Sampt, (husband Steve Sampt), from Michigan, Stephanie (Tipton) Brown, (husband Randy Brown), from Texas and John Tipton, (wife Tamica Scott-Tipton), from Texas and 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Melissa Sampt. His Brother Larry Tipton and his wife Judy, from New Hampshire, a nephew Jeff from Colorado and a Niece Tonya from Massachusetts. He was loved by his extended family Jesus & Ramona Maldonado, Fred & Linda Maldonado, Liz & Craig Sweet, Jeannie & Tom Pastrano, JoAnn & Richard Chavez, Lydia & Dan Ramirez and little Maggie, Lisa & George Toyoda and Jess & Erika Maldonado as well as many aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and co-workers from TN, TX, SC, MI, CA, NC, FL & GA.
There will be a Memorial Service for Anthony "Tony" at the Chapel at Montecito Mortuary: Follow by Military Honors on Friday July 12, 2019 @ 1:00.
After service reception will be held at 1703 Ridge View, Colton. Please feel free to join his family and share your memories of Tony (good & bad).
