Anyone who ever met my grandma immediately loved her laugh. She loved to cook and "knew" her cooking was good. She gave us the best Easters and Christmases, and I still recall our trips to "town" to do some shopping, all while having left the frozen ground beef out in the hot sun to defrost to make either tacos or hamburgers for dinner. She made the best hamburgers too. I can hear her saying " I know, I made them." I cherish inheriting her love of cooking and feeding people! She and my late grandfather were married 56 years and raised three children together. They had five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Certainly life wasn't always a bed of roses, but they were married for better or worse, richer or poor, in sickness and in health until death parted them. But now...but now, they are together again.
"So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord"
2 Corinthians 5:6-8
